The Protech/Oxyplast Group of Montreal, Canada announced today that they have purchased the PVC powder coatings business of MG Industries Erie Inc.

MG Industries has been providing excellent quality products and service since its inception in 2011. With nearly fifty years of PVC experience, MG’s president Mick Gashgarian will continue his involvement in his new role as a consultant to Protech. Michael Gashgarian, MG’s sales manager, will join Protech in a senior sales and marketing position.

Protech fully expects to benefit from the excellent business relationships that the Gashgarians have developed over the years. MG’s customers will continue to be able to obtain the products they have been purchasing and, as well, will now have access to Protech’s worldwide network of products and technology.

The Protech/Oxyplast Group of Montreal, Canada is pleased to announce that they have purchased Trimite Powders Inc. of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Trimite Powders, a well-recognized name within the powder coatings industry, had been providing a quality product and excellent service to its clients for many years. Protech fully expects to benefit from the excellent business relationships that Trimite has developed over the years with its customers. Protech will maintain Trimite’s powder manufacturing operations in Spartanburg. Trimite’s customers will continue to be able to obtain the products they are have been purchasing and, as well, will now have access to Protech’s worldwide network of products and technology. Trimite was an affiliate of Trimite UK and of Weilburger Coatings.

Trimite Powders was advised by Bundy Group, a boutique investment bank, in the sale.

The Protech/Oxyplast Group of Montreal, Canada is pleased to announce that they have acquired the business and manufacturing assets of Chemionics Corporation of Tallmadge Ohio. Chemionics is a well-recognized name in the development and manufacturing of specialty Plastisol and Latex formulations. David Ades, President of Protech said: “Chemionics leading technology in Plastisol and Latex is a great addition to our global business. It fits nicely as it is complementary to our thermoplastics coatings product lines.” Protech fully expects to benefit from the excellent business relationships and the unique technology that Chemionics has developed over the years. Protech will maintain Chemionics’ manufacturing operations in Tallmadge Ohio.

Proud to announce that another two of our powder coating systems have received the Qualisteelcoat-certification!

As the overall interest in the industry to comply with Qualisteelcoat stipulations is growing, we strive to deliver powder that is up to the highest Qualisteelcoat demands. 

Next to a C4-certification for sendzimir, we can now also provide you with powder systems categorized as C4H (one layer) and C5H (two layers) for hot dip galvanized steel.

Additionally, the story continues… tests on metal sprayed substrates are ongoing and we are working towards a possible extreme corrosion class certification.

The Protech/Oxyplast Group of Montreal, Canada is pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement to purchase the thermoplastic powder coating business and assets of Union City Industries of Union City, Michigan. The transaction is expected to close by mid-October, 2015.

UCI is a well-recognized name in PVC powder coatings and has been providing a quality product and excellent service to its clients for many years.  Union City’s principle, Ben Chard said: “We are looking forward to joining the Protech family to grow the thermoplastics powder business together. We are excited about the products and capabilities that Protech can offer our long-standing customers”.

Protech fully expects to benefit from the excellent business relationships that UCI has developed over the years with its customers.  Protech will integrate the UCI powder manufacturing operations into its own organization.  Current customers of UCI will continue to be able to obtain the products they are currently purchasing and, as well, will now have access to Protech’s worldwide network of products and technology.
